The inside of the implant has normal atmospheric pressure. Submerging the implant under water during diving increases the external pressure by one atmosphere (atm) per 10 m of depth.
1) If you have a Nucleus CI24 or CI22M implant these are validated to withstand pressure at a depth of 25m under water for the purposes of scuba diving, which is equivalent to 2.5 atm nominal pressure and 4 atm test pressure.
2) If you have a Nucleus CI500 series or CI24RE series implant these are validated to withstand pressure at a depth of 40m under water for the purposes of scuba diving, which is equivalent to 4 atm nominal pressure and 6 atm test pressure.
3) For depths more than 3 meters the sound processor (even when used with Aqua+ water accessory) must be removed during this activity.

When wearing a mask avoid pressure over the implant site
